Sam's House
I was awakened one morning to the sound of chain saws buzzing. I rushed around the corner on Corbett street and saw that a crew of tree guys were clearing out a hillside of it's trees. There could only be one explanation: another new house is to be built; but on such a steep hillside? I decided to start taking pictures of the project. As soon as all of the trees were cleared, several track hoes were brought in and proceeded to dig out the entire hillside. But what about erosion? They took care of that with a huge retaining wall at the rear. After the retaining wall came the foundation, and with that came the actual construction. It used to be a city planning policy that 40% of the land had to be not covered in order to take care of the rain water. That apparently is no longer the case as all of the new construction in this neighborhood takes up the entire lot.
